First Brawl: Round Two, FIGHT! [Action/Video]
[Agent Chun-Li was not going to be amused, at all. Suddenly waking up, sopping wet, was not her idea of a good time. And she couldn't help but shake the feeling that this was not the first time. She drowsily stirred, trying to shake off the heat of the hot spring and blearily make her way to out of the water. What is my life she thinks to herself, looking around the oddly familiar bathhouse for some sign of where she might be. Grumbling, she roots around until she finds a towel and thankfully her qipao had been folded up on a nearby table. On top of a familiar looking book...with her name written on it.
THAT got a low groan...and the detective flopped down to review.]
Ugh. Luceti.
[Not long after that, a Video came up over the network. Now dressed, dried and with her hair done up in proper ox-horns, the Interpol Agent coughed and stood before the camera, arms clasped in front of her.]
Good afternoon everyone. My name is Agent Chun-Li, and for those of you who remember me, hello!
If you don't, then allow me to introduce myself. I'm a police officer from Interpol, and I spent some time here during the last summer it seems. Back home I spend my free time teaching kung-fu and other sorts of wu-shu. I'm originally from Hong-Kong, but I've spent a lot of time travelling the last few years. Keeping busy with work, you know? My memory of being here before is pretty clear now that I've had the chance to go through the journal again, so don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk or you need help.
I'm hoping not too much has changed in town, I can definitely remember this place having some really good food. And...I've gathered that it's getting getting into November so I guess that means it's going to get cold soon? Anyone who's been here through winter mind telling me what I need to be prepared for? I don't usually get outside the cities too much back home.
Anyway, it's nice to be back I suppose. If you see me wandering around town, don't be a stranger, alright? I don't bite.
[Chun-Li bows politely and cuts off the feed. She can be found around town, at the Clothing Shop, Item Shop, various restaurants, the Welcome Center, and the Smithy to collect her bracelets as well.]
(ooc: Tag her wherever you like, around town, at the hot springs, over the journal. I'm cool with whatever, break all the time you want!)

[He's just being stubborn now just to see how serious she is about it.]
no subject
[But she takes a different tactic]
And I'd feel a lot better knowing we were both in the best shape we can be in. I need guys I trust to watch my back.
no subject
Oh. Okay. [Rubs the back of his neck.] I'm not sure... mah, that is... it'll be tough for you to find a way to teach me. Or even just spar me, eh?
My fighting comes down to three things. [Holds up fingers for each one.] Protecting my nakama, avoiding enemies, or killing. Usually in that order.
So far the only person I really trust myself to fight, I mean, really fight is Ace. And even then, he knows I try to hold back. [Which in itself is another issue.]
no subject
[She gives him a look. Talking to a woman who can smash a car with her feet, after all.]
And I've got a way for us to fight and let you go full bore. We'll do it in the battle dome, with the power cap cranked up. That means no super-powers. Because that's what I'm going to teach you. How to do more than fight like that.
[Control.]
1/2
Haki is...
[Back to hesitating. He want to say he just doesn't want to. Which is true. The idea of getting stronger is exciting, but he's not sure he could really bring himself to fully kick someone with haki -- or even just at full strength, unless they really pushed him into it.]
2/2
Of all my brothers, Ace is the only one I'll kick. Not because he's the strongest, he's just the most reckless. If I don't kick him, he'll do something crazier and worse, so I have to trust that, and trust him to hold his own.
Otherwise figuring out how much I can kick someone before they'll die, or how much is too light, it's a pain. It's a lot of control, and that's fine, but getting me to stop holding back is going to be a lot harder for you than you think.
Even without devil fruit. I wasn't Pops' right hand man by not knowing how to fight. If anything, fighting seems like all I know.
1/?
I'm telling you we're going to train in the Battle Dome. Where you can't use Haki.
2/?
3/?
[She's a bit angry now, you challenged her as a competitor, really. And it's patronizing. THAT's a trigger]
I've seen you fight during that shift, but you've never seen me fight. But I guess for you to have any respect for my strength...
4/4 OK...got it under control now.
KIKOSHO!
[A thunderous burst of energy propels him forward, through the wall and out into the hall. She knows HE can take it, but she assumes a fighting stance to prove her point. Chi was like Haki, and she felt he was sorely underestimating her. And it pissed her off!]

Nor haki.
It's about the difference between aiming to kill or at least maim. Do you think you're so strong there is no absolutely no chance I could hurt you? Do you think I'd take such a chance with my father either? He was the world's strongest! It's not about pure strength.
no subject
I think that you're patronizing me. Pain is HOW you get stronger. You won't kill me. You're not that strong.
And if you ever talk down to me like that again, we're going to have problems.
no subject
Even if you are four times stronger than me, I could still kill you. The human body is a very fragile thing. There are over two hundred ways I could try right now, and dozens more possibilities I can't account for.
[He gets up, eyes soften and offers her a hand up before he flicks her forehead.]
If you can't see that as a possibility, you're not ready to fight me. Talk to Ace first, but I can't fight someone who doesn't understand they're taking their life into their hands. I won't.
no subject
Marco, sweetie, look at my hands. The human body is fragile, yes. And there at least a hundred ways I could've broken your arm before you pinned me. I allowed you to.
[Her spiked bracelet is resting on the inside of his left arm, poised to tear open an artery, and the other is millimeters from his groin, ready to deliver unimaginable pain.]
If you think I'm not prepared to take my life into my own hands, you've got another thing coming. The question you should be asking is are you ready to train with me.
[When he tries to flick her forehead, she catches the finger and bends it away with a firm strength.]
I'm not stupid. You're a dangerous guy. But that doesn't mean I'm not dangerous too. Training isn't a game. Getting stronger isn't a game. It's the only way to survive.

I need a cigarette. [Gestures to the hole in his wall to signify he's going to the hall and rooftop. He doesn't generally allow smoking inside. He doesn't want to set a bad example for Ace and Sabo, though he's been known to smoke around them both now. It still requires a push to get him to break down that much however.] If you're asking me trust that you won't get permanently hurt or die, then you have to trust me when I say it's a danger. I mean it Chun-Li. I will give you that trust, but understand it's a really big thing, eh?
[Holds a hand out at a level with his chest.] My life and safety are about here. [Moves the hand up to his eye level.] Those I care about are up here. I'm not just trusting you to take care of both, understood? I'd have to trust you to hold me enough in check that absolutely nothing I'd regret could happen.
As you say, it's not a game. If you want me to trust you to take your own life into your hands, I will, but you absolutely must promise you understand that's what you're doing. And then some. [Because it's also his mental stability at stake. If he accidentally hurts her, he wouldn't forgive himself that, and then how would he avenge it? Maim himself? Somehow that doesn't work...] Got it? [Heading out now for that cigarette.]
no subject
I promise that I know what I'm doing. It's the same agreement that I have with my training partners at home. But, I want you to understand something too. Don't treat me like a flower. All that'll do is make me angry.
And frankly? I want you to promise me the same thing you're asking. I may be human, but that doesn't mean I can't hurt you. Your world's Haki is like Chi in mine. I'm hardly a mere mortal.
[She puts an arm on his shoulder as she follows him.]
But I appreciate you giving me the trust. I know you don't trust easily.
no subject
Though I suggest you don't. Ace and Robin would be very upset.
If I was going to treat you gently I wouldn't make you make me this promise, eh? And you said yourself, you want to fight where we can't use haki or chi. If you have rokushiki in your world, I suggest you practice tekkai heavily before you even spar me. Or you can ask that marine to show you.
I repeat, Chun-Li. I wouldn't fight my Pops either. And Garp had no devil fruit power. But if you really want me to not hold back, then you are saying you want to face the kind of kick that stops a volcano and goes at nearly the speed of light. I can only assume the barrier caps even that, but I'm not even sure the Battledome wouldn't break from it, eh? So seriously, make sure you understand what you're asking for and I'll trust you to handle it.

[She clasps her hands behind her back and watches the horizon]
We can set ground rules for it later. And it'll be good for us.
no subject
"Good." I want to be bad. [Lays down on the rooftop and lazily looks up at the sky.] Don't try to make an honest man out of me, eh? I'm not sure even piracy could withstand the force of your charm~
no subject
[She sits and dangles her legs off the roof]
I just want to be a normal girl, but I keep getting stuck in some very unreasonable situations and have to adapt. My charm is a defense mechanism against creeps.
no subject
Actually I can't call you normal. Normal people tick me off. You're too nice though. [Sticks his tongue out and enjoys his cigarette.]
So how was everything back home, eh? Unreasonable as ever?
no subject
[She swishes her feet and gives him a chipper look]
Back home? It wasn't too different than usual. I was only home for a few minutes. Enough time to get that bitch Juri into lockup and head out for home. Guile was driving, and I fell asleep, and woke up here.
no subject
Juri? I don't think you've mentioned her before, eh. Part of the Shadaloo?
