First Brawl: Round Two, FIGHT! [Action/Video]

[Agent Chun-Li was not going to be amused, at all. Suddenly waking up, sopping wet, was not her idea of a good time. And she couldn't help but shake the feeling that this was not the first time. She drowsily stirred, trying to shake off the heat of the hot spring and blearily make her way to out of the water. What is my life she thinks to herself, looking around the oddly familiar bathhouse for some sign of where she might be. Grumbling, she roots around until she finds a towel and thankfully her qipao had been folded up on a nearby table. On top of a familiar looking book...with her name written on it.

THAT got a low groan...and the detective flopped down to review.]

Ugh. Luceti.

[Not long after that, a Video came up over the network. Now dressed, dried and with her hair done up in proper ox-horns, the Interpol Agent coughed and stood before the camera, arms clasped in front of her.]

Good afternoon everyone. My name is Agent Chun-Li, and for those of you who remember me, hello!

If you don't, then allow me to introduce myself. I'm a police officer from Interpol, and I spent some time here during the last summer it seems. Back home I spend my free time teaching kung-fu and other sorts of wu-shu. I'm originally from Hong-Kong, but I've spent a lot of time travelling the last few years. Keeping busy with work, you know? My memory of being here before is pretty clear now that I've had the chance to go through the journal again, so don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk or you need help.

I'm hoping not too much has changed in town, I can definitely remember this place having some really good food. And...I've gathered that it's getting getting into November so I guess that means it's going to get cold soon? Anyone who's been here through winter mind telling me what I need to be prepared for? I don't usually get outside the cities too much back home.

Anyway, it's nice to be back I suppose. If you see me wandering around town, don't be a stranger, alright? I don't bite.

[Chun-Li bows politely and cuts off the feed. She can be found around town, at the Clothing Shop, Item Shop, various restaurants, the Welcome Center, and the Smithy to collect her bracelets as well.]

Yeah...that man was severely injured back then, so we kept him under our care in a hidden part of the Battle Dome.

There was no peep from either faction for months, but in June we got a demand from one of them demanding his return...or else.

Right, I follow.

[She nods emphatically, taking notes]

Go on.

We had a week to prepare.

[A pause as he gathered his thoughts.]

We had a trifecta of crises happen at that time. A draft took half of our residents into space. A terrible storm, one that royally wrecked the village, came through. And we had their droids come in to act on their threat.

Great, so...a storm, evil robots, and Star Trek.

[She nods]

[Star Trek.

He chuckled at that, far more amused than he was going to admit. Oh, if only she knew...]

We set up a decoy plan to distract the droids. Four of our own disguised themselves as the old man...and it worked.

Well, that's good.

[She's growing a little impatient with the theatrics]

What happened to the decoys. Since I'm assuming you were one of them, knowing you.

[That was nice. She was as skilled and insightful as usual!]

We succeeded...kind of. We learned a lot in there, got valuable information....

but not everyone came back to the village at the same time.

One of the ones who got delayed was you, wasn't it?

[Her voice gets cold, and quiet]

...that was four months ago, detective. I've gotten the problem taken care of...as of today, actually.

Then why the theatrics.

[She glares at the camera]

You're back and you're OK. Don't leave me in suspense like that. Who else?

It's not information that's widely known.

[He pouts in return.]

I didn't want too many people coddling or treating me like I was glass. It was a shitty penalty. Not that they all aren't, but this one was really shitty.

[a deep breath.] I don't know who else fell in that incident, and I don't know who all fell during this one. There's one of my associates I suspect...but he arrived after the incident in June. There's no way you'd know him.

And you shouldn't withhold information that could help me figure out how to react to all this.

[She shakes her head]

I'm a cop too, not just a pretty face. You're a grown man, you made a choice to do what you thought was right and paid the price. I'm not going to treat you like a kid for doing something selfless.

But the theatrics and campy theater are kinda lame.

Chun-Li.

[His smile is warm, even in the face of her frustration.]

This is why I love you. Please don't ever change.

You're straightforward, direct, and very friendly about it. That's something I can't easily do for long.

It's refreshing.

Well, at least I don't have to beat information out of you.

That's because I know you will if I keep my games up for too long.

[Not that he cared...but it was her own relaxed acceptance that helped him relax.]

You've got that right. Anything else I need to know? Or is it all just murder and mayhem with zombies on the side?

It's all just murder, mayhem, and zombies really. Not much else to say, except that the Malnosso never did deliver on their threat...and there was a big screw up with a chaos god in August...and apparently another screw up with a different god more recently, but I'm steering clear of that affair.

We also got in a couple of fictional characters last cycle, though they're not from a timeline we're used to. You'll know 'em when you see 'em.

Whoa, hold up. Gods?! Explain that. Now.

Literal gods, Chun-Li. The mythological kind.

Yea, I got that. Explain. How the hell did you get mixed up with them? And what did they do?

[Glaring again]

Like I said~ I don't really know much about the second occurrence, but the first one...

well, I moved in with some friends after June, and one of our neighbors ended up possessed. He kind of attacked our house, among others, and really messed everything up. It took a couple of wizards and another god to get him contained.

It...

It was a mess.

Lovely. Sounds like a riveting time. Is the bad god contained?

And the second? Just tell me what you know so I can get a clear picture.

Yea, the bad god is contained. That situation is covered.

The next one...

There's another chaos god in town, and most of the team that defeated him in their world now living in our bubble. Again, I don't know much, but it seems like one of the 'good guys' took a shot at the god for some reason--not sure what, it was a stupid move in this place...in my opinion--and it started a mess within that group. That was...last month? Not that long ago, and I haven't been keeping track of the situation.

Some of it might still be rumbling, but we can hope that the 'good guys' have the situation under control on their end.

In either case, it's not my problem. It just makes me wonder if the Malnosso are letting us make good on their threat from June. Lord knows that there's been enough messes that have had nothing to do with our keepers in recent months.
