First Brawl: Round Two, FIGHT! [Action/Video]

[Agent Chun-Li was not going to be amused, at all. Suddenly waking up, sopping wet, was not her idea of a good time. And she couldn't help but shake the feeling that this was not the first time. She drowsily stirred, trying to shake off the heat of the hot spring and blearily make her way to out of the water. What is my life she thinks to herself, looking around the oddly familiar bathhouse for some sign of where she might be. Grumbling, she roots around until she finds a towel and thankfully her qipao had been folded up on a nearby table. On top of a familiar looking book...with her name written on it.

THAT got a low groan...and the detective flopped down to review.]

Ugh. Luceti.

[Not long after that, a Video came up over the network. Now dressed, dried and with her hair done up in proper ox-horns, the Interpol Agent coughed and stood before the camera, arms clasped in front of her.]

Good afternoon everyone. My name is Agent Chun-Li, and for those of you who remember me, hello!

If you don't, then allow me to introduce myself. I'm a police officer from Interpol, and I spent some time here during the last summer it seems. Back home I spend my free time teaching kung-fu and other sorts of wu-shu. I'm originally from Hong-Kong, but I've spent a lot of time travelling the last few years. Keeping busy with work, you know? My memory of being here before is pretty clear now that I've had the chance to go through the journal again, so don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk or you need help.

I'm hoping not too much has changed in town, I can definitely remember this place having some really good food. And...I've gathered that it's getting getting into November so I guess that means it's going to get cold soon? Anyone who's been here through winter mind telling me what I need to be prepared for? I don't usually get outside the cities too much back home.

Anyway, it's nice to be back I suppose. If you see me wandering around town, don't be a stranger, alright? I don't bite.

[Chun-Li bows politely and cuts off the feed. She can be found around town, at the Clothing Shop, Item Shop, various restaurants, the Welcome Center, and the Smithy to collect her bracelets as well.]

Around April. You left pretty much after that whole thing. So I guess it's been over half a year, eh?

[She starts eating, but smiles]

And you've gotten better, you know.

I'm glad. Six months of cooking for Ace seems not to have gone to waste.

Mah, I want to say "same old, same old," but it's actually been interesting. Drafts, shifts. You missed the ghosts for Halloween. And the zombie draft plague.

Ace and I have been pranking each other silly. Be glad you missed having to see me with red hair. Robin said I looked like a murdered pineapple. [Nod!]

Zombies? You're joking, right?

[She pauses her meal...blinking]

That...sounds awful.

Ah... sorry. I got him back though.

I wasn't on the draft, but everyone who was is still... Apparently it was that bad. In my world zombies are just controlled by Gecko Moria; like puppets, but apparently this was more like an illness.

So if you don't see Ace, it's because other than helping Nami harvest, I'm trying to make him sleep it off.

It could be worse though. Not that it makes it better, it's just good to keep in mind.

An illness? Oh god...that sounds awful. Is Ace alright? It didn't get loose here did it?!

He's okay, just shook up. It wasn't here, that's why I guess they keep the barrier in place, but a lot of his friends got hurt. Did you ever meet Moro?

I did. Once. Big wolf, right?

[Nods.] She got infected, so from what I understand, that was a big problem, eh.

Sorry, I wish I could offer you better news. Things haven't always been bad, October was just rough.

Stars, Marco. That's awful.

[She sets down her chopsticks and gives him a long, hard look]

What else happened, between April and now?

[Small grin.]

I got a girlfriend. She's a cat now. [Waves a hand.] Malnosso, but I have to thank you. Your letter when you went back was what gave me the courage to even try, eh?

I adopted another little brother: Sabo. He's a writer. Only ten years old, but smartest kid I've ever met. He grew up with Ace and Luffy, but he's great.

And he and I are joining the art club. Apparently I can't draw, but I'm daring them to try to teach an old bird a new trick, eh?

You got a girlfriend?

[Excuse the look...]

And I'm sure Whitebeard would be proud. I do remember him.

[Flushes a little and beams.] You think so?

Hah, aye... you'll have to meet her. Nico Robin. She's from my world. In Luffy's crew. She's brilliant. The last archaeologist of her kind.

[Kind of a wry grin and holds a finger up over his lips and whispers. Because it's Robin and she could literally be watching.] Actually she used to be allied with an old enemy of mine. So I didn't expect us to get along so well, but it's been fun.

[feetoffury]

It's not a name that sounds familiar...neither is Luffy, but if she makes you happy, then that's lovely. I'm happy for you, Marco. Glad I could help.

[She grins]

And yea, your Pops would be so very proud.

Luffy is Ace's little brother. Captain of the Straw Hat pirates here.

[Damn he's just gonna happy blush forever at that.] Hah.... I hope so. He'd be more proud of Ace, eh.

Why do you say that, eh?

[She grins]

Ace is really...

[Rubs the back of his neck. It's embarraaaaassing, gosh.] He's doing a really good job of balancing everything. I'd have probably lost it by now, eh? But he holds together and keeps trying to help everyone.

[feetoffury]

And you don't? You're managing a lot better than I thought. I mean, adopting a new brother after Pops funeral?

[It feels easy to call him that, even though the memories of that Shift are distant, and fuzzy at best]

[fierybluebird]

[Softer grin.] I'm trying. Sabo...

[Can't go home either. He's like Ace.] I'm cheating really. [Small grin.] Everything is easier for me here. Zombies? I dealt with that in Marineford. Fighting nakama? We dealt with that too. [Drops the grin a little, glancing down at his noodles. Blackbeard... Doflamingo... How many of his allies could he even keep safe? And how many would be his allies without Pops to lead them?] And still have to again in the future.

Adopting Sabo was the easiest thing I could have done, eh? He's already Ace's little brother, and I'd happily kill anyone who touched him. At least this gives everyone else a warning.

I adopted a sister too. Norma. But again, I'm cheating. Ace adopted both of them first, so all I have to do is support his decisions and reap the benefits. [Wry grin.] Mah, I'd introduce you to her too, but she hasn't come back from a kidnapping yet. Part of why October was the worst month for us.

[feetoffury]

I wouldn't call that cheating, Marco. I'd call that having a big, welcoming heart.

[She smiles gently, getting a sense of just how hard things have been for him and the Whitebeard Pirates. Sure, they're pirates and all but they were there for her before. And really? When it came down to it they weren't so bad. They weren't like Shadaloo, or the Triad gangs. There was a softer side to them that she'd seen before. And it was starting to come back.]

I'm sorry you've had a hard time.

[fierybluebird]

[Grins and runs a hand through his hair.] Really though, I haven't. I don't feel bad about that, don't get me wrong. [Marco doesn't really do guilt.] But I don't know what to say to cheer everyone else up. Ace keeps saying I can't understand how hard is on him, and really, he's right. [Spreads hands with a shrug.] I can't.

The New World's always been tough. Getting to see him again, getting to meet Sabo, getting to meet Norma, Robin, everyone, even if it's just for a short time, it's an opportunity I could never have dreamed of being so lucky to have.

The Malnosso took me and turned me into a child-stage for a week or so, but I wasn't alone during it. Ace was here, and Sabo, so... [A shrug.] I guess it's strange. I'm happy here. October was bad, don't get me wrong. [Fighting with Ace... never good.] But that just means I'm going to do my best to make November a little brighter for everyone, eh.

[feetoffury]

Ace does have it hard, knowing what comes. I can't imagine what it must be like. But I know I don't envy him. [She sighs, resting her cheek on one hand] But what's done is done. You've got to make the best out of what you're given.

And I never understood all the hate. Sure, things can get rough here. But they can get rough everywhere. I don't know what else to say, but I know you've got a good heart. Or I'd have punched you in the face for that ridiculous dinner you set up.

[She gives him a cheeky grin]

And that sounds nice. Brightening up the place?

[fierybluebird]

[Laughs.] Aw come on, you had fun, right? [Sticks his tongue out and nods.]

I need a better plan still. Something that reminds everyone we're together and that's more than the Malnosso have. Ah, I realize that might sound strange, but it really is more than they have.

[feetoffury]

I did, but it was ridiculous.

[She nods at that]

I think so too. They seem like miserable individuals. Is there anything I can do to help though?
